When we at KiGen started developing Kinsai, we were convinced we had created pretty much the best koi food possible. Kinsai is produced using the finest LT fish meal available on the market, supplemented with high-quality carbohydrates and a carefully formulated premix. The result: a balanced feed where color development, growth, and overall health come together. Kinsai is an absolute top-tier food.
Until we were introduced to RG-92, an algae from the Japanese hot springs in the Beppu province.
Marujyu is one of the Japanese breeders who has been using RG-92 as an additive in his koi food for quite some time. And he’s not alone. Other internationally renowned breeders now swear by this ingredient as well.
Shigeyoshi from the Marujyu Koi Farm even goes as far as to state that RG-92 makes a substantial contribution to the development of the famous Marujyu shiroji. Additionally, several breeders indicate that adding RG-92 leads to a significant reduction in losses during tosai breeding.
Reason enough for KiGen to thoroughly investigate RG-92.
Our conclusion: RG-92 can indeed offer clear added value compared to our existing Kinsai food. Since RG-92 has a noticeable impact on the cost price, we have consciously chosen transparency. That is why, alongside Kinsai, we are introducing the Marujyu Special food:
